New Boat - June 4, 2011

We got a new boat.  Now we have access to more bodies of water for messing about.  It came with a life jacket and three paddles.  It is an old fiberglass Seda Scout.  The day I bought it from Bill, through Craigslist, Noah and I went to the Santa Barbara Bird Refuge to see if it floated.

Noah decided where we would go.

We paddled around the whole perimeter, watching the birds, the zoo train and the fish.

We stopped at one of the islands in the middle.  There was no sign of people visiting here.  The whole island is covered in Myoporum trees.  We saw piles of bird bones, crayfish shells, and raccoon poop.

Noah loved the island.

Plenty of unpruned trees so Noah can reach the branches.  You don't find that in any parks around here.

We spent almost two hours exploring every part of the island.
