Santa Barbara County Bike Tour/Camp Trip Day 3 - El Capitan to Santa Barbara - November 30, 2010
Day 3 - Ride from El Capitan State Beach to Santa Barbara (and Carpinteria). Trying to avoid riding on the freeway too much, we took bike paths, back roads, private roads, and the beach.

The northern bike path ended at a road, which ended at an unanticipated private property fence. This change of plan put us on the freeway for a couple miles and we took the first exit, went downhill, and ended up here. Trying to get to Dos Pueblos Canyon Rd so we can ride to Goleta without getting buzzed by cars and trucks going 75mph on the 101. Too many fences.
This path led to another high fence.
So we went under the railroad, through this tunnel, to the beach
And there was a really low tide

At Atascadero Creek Bridge. Last of the trip. 2 more miles home.
Tim- what an awesome bike route! The most fun is definately when you take the road/beach/creekpath less traveled! We need to draft you into service to lead a local bike tour for us in MAY!
